Meet the Team
Mauwane Kotane – Managing Director
Mauwane Kotane is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in corporate finance, investment analysis, trading and advisory. He studied commerce at the institution now known as the University of Johannesburg (formerly Rand Afrikaans University), where he attained a BCom degree majoring in Accounting, Financial Management, Auditing, and Taxation.
He further enhanced his expertise with certificates from UNISA in Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management and Mathematical Modelling of Derivatives. Mauwane was conferred with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter in 2007 and holds a Master of Management in Finance and Investments from Wits Business School.
Mauwane began his career on the derivatives desk at BOE, one of South Africa’s leading private banks, where he spent nearly five years. In the midst of the global financial crisis, he founded his own financial services firm, driven by a vision to provide independent and strategic advisory solutions.
His governance experience spans both the public and private sectors, having served on boards such as the Financial Services Sector Education and Training Authority (FASSET) and as Chairman of Thata Ubeke Manufacturing (TUB)-a manufacturer of electrical and electronic systems, and a two-time winner of the DTI Black Industrialist Award.
Additional directorships include Gaca Africa Holdings, a steel fabrication business. Mauwane has also shared his knowledge as a finance lecturer and trainer, with engagements at the SA Stockbrokers Association, The Innovation Hub (via the University of Pretoria), and the MBA programme at Wits Business School. He brings a unique combination of technical depth, strategic foresight, and entrepreneurial resilience to Treadstone Advisors.
Eugene Lufhugu – Director
Eugene is a Chartered Accountant (CA)SA with over 20 years of experience in finance, assurance, and executive leadership across both the public and private sectors. His expertise spans financial management, internal controls, risk mitigation, capital planning, and strategic transformation.
Previously, Eugene served as Executive Director and Head Partner of the Assurance Division at Rakoma & Associates Inc., where he led a team of over 145 finance professionals and drove strategic growth initiatives that increased revenue by 20% within a year. His leadership facilitated cross-divisional synergies and successful engagements with major audit clients such as UNISA, African Bank, TIA, the Housing Development Agency, Sci-Bono, and the University of Pretoria, among others.
His career includes executive positions at:

- Rand Mutual Assurance and RMA Life
- FNB’s Consumer Business Unit
Eugene’s strengths lie in his ability to transform financial functions, ensure compliance, manage large-scale transitions, and deliver results in complex environments. His leadership is grounded in technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of both governance and operational finance.
Didintle Leketi
Didi brings over 15 years of experience in commercial banking and insurance. Her expertise spans both front and back office functions, having worked as a Credit Risk Analyst and Dealmaker, with her most recent role in the agriculture sector at FNB Commercial Bank.
She has served on the Board and Investment Committee of RH S12J VCC, a healthcare-focused investment vehicle aimed at expanding healthcare infrastructure in South Africa. She currently sits on the Steering Committee of the Southern African Food Systems Alliance, where she contributes to initiatives that support localisation in the FMCG supply chain.
Didintle holds a B.Sc. in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics from the University of Pretoria, and brings a unique blend of technical financial acumen and deal-making experience to the Treadstone Advisors team.
Mochele Noge
Mochele is a highly accomplished Chartered Accountant (CA)SA with over 15 years’ experience in finance, operations management, and investment advisory. His expertise lies in identifying opportunities across various sectors, conducting in-depth financial assessments of potential investments, and securing financing for new business ventures.
He is known for his strong analytical capabilities, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication and presentation skills-qualities that, combined with a wide network of business contacts, make him a valuable asset to both clients and investment partners.
Mochele began his career at the FirstRand Group, where he worked across FNB Card, FirstRand Banking Group, and RMB’s Corporate Finance Division. He later joined Citigroup, gaining international exposure in both Investment Banking and Corporate Banking. His professional journey evolved to include entrepreneurship and academia, further broadening his depth of insight into both the practical and theoretical aspects of finance and business strategy.
